1. Tell us a bit about your hometown. Where do you insist on taking out of town guests?

I live in Minneapolis, it's a really fun place to ride bikes. The cycling infrastructure is improving by the year and there is such variety in the types of riding you can do. Summers in Minneapolis are truly gorgeous, but having a fatbike gets me excited about winter snow. For a unique time, taking out of town guests to the Velodrome at the National Sports Center is tops on my list. It's the only wood strip, outdoor velodrome in the country. The banking is steep and the racers go really fast. It's an exciting way to spend a glorious summer evening.

2. Where is your favorite place to take your Po Campo?

I take my Po Campo all over town! My absolute favorite place to go is Modern Times for weekend breakfast. I order the same thing every week and it's so delicious there's no reason to change.

3.  A favorite tip (or two) about how you incorporate mindfulness and healthy habits into your daily life?

I try to make the healthy choice the easy choice. I live in the city, so it's easier and sometimes faster to ride for transportation. In fresh snow driving can be difficult and dangerous before the roads have been plowed, but that's when fatbiking is most fun. So it's an easy choice to fatbike to brunch instead of drive.

4.  A suggestion for women who are interested in biking but have safety concerns?

Take a short ride with an experienced friend. Try a straightforward ride to brunch, a brewery or yoga; just some place familiar. Also, go easy on yourself. You don't have to be a perfect cyclist, know all the short cuts or how to fix a flat in order to start riding. Everything comes in time.

5.  Secrets for managing helmet hair?

Honestly, I just stopped caring how my hair looks. To manage it well under the helmet, I've been wearing braided pigtails.

6. Favorite biking memory?

I was biking one night with two friends, my now-husband slowed to turn from the street onto a trail. However, he didn't let me know he was doing this and I didn't realize he was slowing down. Our wheels overlapped, then he turned right and took my wheel out from under me. Instead of falling, I miraculously landed on my feet with the momentum of riding still with me, I ended up sort of crouch running to slow down. It was a strange and amazing accident where no one was hurt.

7.
If you could have dinner with anyone (living or dead) who would it be, and why?

I would have dinner with Lucille Ball. When I was little I watched I Love Lucy and was really impacted by her comedy. She broke conventions and ran a successful production company in a field dominated by men. Her experiences and insights would be fascinating to hear about.

8. If you could be amazing at playing any one instrument, which would you pick?

Harmonica, for sure. I love a good harmonica solo. It's easy to carry around and play anywhere.

9.  If you could wake up fluent in any language, which would it be?

I've been learning Irish for the past 6 months, it's pretty tricky so I would love to be able to wake up one day speaking fluent Irish.

10.
What song do you always sing when you sing karaoke?

It's best for everyone if I don't sing karaoke. I do make up songs to sing to my dogs around the house, they don't mind my bad singing.
